FULANA BELTRANA SICRANA was officially launched in 2012 and is a brand of one-of-a-kind and personalised dolls and accessories designed and handcrafted by Benedetta Maxia in her studio in Lisbon, Portugal. Benedetta was born in Pisa, Italy and she has been living in Lisbon for over ten years, where she has also been working as a professional contemporary dancer and translator.
Each piece is created individually from a combination of upcycled, vintage and limited-edition sample fabrics and materials, therefore each one of them is one-of-a-kind, sometimes really unique and collectible.
The name “Fulana Beltrana Sicrana” is inspired in the Portuguese expression “Fulano, Sicrano e Beltrano” and its equivalent in other languages would be: Italian: “Tizia, Caia e Sempronia” English: “Jane, Jill and Mary”, French: “Pierrette, Paulette et Jacqueline”, Spanish: “Fulana, Zutana y Mengana”, Polish: “Jasia, Julka i Marysia”, Greek: “”Λόλα, Φαίη και Μιμή (Lola, Fay and Mimi)”…
Fulana and Fulano have dark, Beltrana and Beltrano have red and Sicrana and Sicrano have brown hair or pelage, like the Aniumans collection and each one of them has a unique and special personality.
FULANA BELTRANA SICRANA has been also collaborating with fashion designer Alexandra Moura, creating the accessories for the S/S 16 Collection and with Burel Factory, making exclusive and unique collections made of burel.
